Scientists have proven that if one consciously practices an action consistently for 18 days it will become an unconscious behavior. It will take a conscious effort for the first few weeks to continually practice the action, but remember as long as you consistently do it for a few weeks, it will become a habit you no longer have to think about! It's easy to think that any difficulty you have in the beginning will always exist. However this simply isn't true if you commit 100% to your new healthy behavior. To get yourself past the 18-day hump, continue to associate your new behavior with all its rewards and associate your old behavior with all its costs. Whenever you waiver, don't rethink the situation. You've already determined what is best for you. Simply stick to your plan choose the positive behavior.
