Every month measure your progress. If you aren't achieving the results you need in order to accomplish your goal, then either adapt your plan or your actions. A pilot doesn't arrive at a destination by setting a course and going to sleep. Pilots have to constantly adjust their bearing to deal with changes in wind speed, weather, air traffic, airport congestion, etc. You need to do the same. Continually fine-tune your weekly requirements to keep you on a course toward your goal. Continually remind yourself of the rewards for sticking to your new plan and the costs for not sticking to it. Don't worry if you seriously miscalculate the time it will take to accomplish your goal. As a general rule, most things take twice as long as you think.
